Before I begin discussing a new topic that seems extremely relevant today, let me share an update on the money personality material that I have been working on for months. It appears that I have about 20-25 pages of material to complete before I will be ready to publish. The question I still need to answer for myself is do I self-publish in book form or do I create a membership site where people can email in questions based on the material, and then I answer in a non-open forum. I will keep you all posted as I get closer.
A problem area I have seen more often recently in my therapeutic work, is in the area of life transitions. These transition times have always caused some upheaval in the lives of individuals and families. Transition times are those times where we either enter a new stage of life or an unexpected life event causes a change in our intended course. Normalized transition times were the birth of a child, a child going to school for the first time, children going off to college, marriage, and retirement. Even these, normalized or not, were fraught with difficulty and stress. A societal shift has occurred whereby anxiety and stress have become more the norm rather than being relegated to these times of transition. As a result, these transition times have become more emotionally profound. Transitions have also become more common with people changing jobs and careers much more often. This in turn leads to more stress, anxiety and sadness. Why? Next time.
